Photographer’s Notes:
Yesterday was a night that promised to bring the party mayhem and excitement from Ibiza to the England capital, London.

Ideal time for Londoners’ not able to jetset to the continent for the summer to get their Ibizan freak on! And i must say it delivered! Hed Kandi were celebrating the release of their new album, Hed Kandi The Mix: Summer 2009 which features chunes from booty luv, basement jaxx and even the legend bob marley, all to help you get your summer groove on.

I covered the night for Tilllate.com. I had done other events for them but it was my 2nd big event as a junior photographer, you know “NO PRESSURE”! It turned out to be a fun night to shoot. The lighting was a wash of bright candy colours like pink and candy blue, this was particularly good when it came to shooting the models/dancers on the centre stage as it brought out the colours of the swimwear they were modelling and all their accessories. ( due to the fantastic job of their stylist). I would not mind shooting them again, not just because they were beautiful but really gave such great poses and WORKED the camera.

Everyone was in party mode and dressed to impress making it fun to mingle, even the VIP bouncers were having fun and let me into the VIP lounge to snap away. Ok so it was time to head off, but as I was near the exit I saw two stunners chatting on the stairs. By this time my equipment was packed away, having thoughts of should I or should I not take a picture. If there is one thing Ive learn’t its that in photography every click of the shutter is a moment captured and recorded, sometimes that moment comes by ONCE. Having that thought I was like “lets roll wid it”! Approached them and started some fun banter, then asked if I could take thier pics. They agreed after a bit of persuation as the blonde was talking about not being able to ‘cos of her modeling agency! blah blah blah. :) It was fast passed paced candids and pretty straight forward ‘cos I knew what I was aiming to get and didn’t want to keep them long as they just arrived! The outcome was the beautiful picture at the top of the post, having a blond and a brunette made it work even better. Its good to look out for potential opportunities to get beautiful shots ‘cos they could happen spontaneously, try candid shots as well as posed ones.

I would consider doing another Hed Kandi night and will definately be back to PACHA!
