Happy 2010!

Photographer’s Notes:
Wow. Not only has another year ended but also another Decade! Its 2010 baby!!…
It already sounds like a kool year, with a futuristic feel right?
Not got that many New Years resolutions at the moment, I was telling a friend recently, I guess it would have to be to do the ones I neglected in 2009 :)
In regards to projoephotography,I intend to do a bit more. Like blogging a bit more frequently. (so this will mean a few belated 2009 post make it into the new year!) Getting a few of my photo’s in print and in exhibitions.
I learnt so much more in the past year in regards to style, more creative compositioning as well as more on protrait photography and lighting. As photographer David Leslie Anthony once said, “WHEN you become “self-satisfied” with your own work, you have stopped growing!” which makes a lot of sense in my opinion. Since I got my speedlights in summer 2009 I have been practising a lot with off camera lighting using Nikon’s creative lighting system (CLS) but really want to increase my knowlege of using lighting on location shoots and in studio.
If you are reading this as a beginner or someone with little knowledge of your equipment, I cannot emphasize more the need for you to learn the basics of photography before spending money on Expensive gear, NO one can teach you “Style and feeling”. So keep shooting with what gear you have and keep reading up on the basics.
The picture above was shot at the O2 academy in Brixton on NYE. The good people at Lock N Load Events put on “Get loaded in the dark” which became one of the HOTTEST selling tickets going on NYE. Check out the highlights below.
