Photographer’s Notes:

Super club Matter, located in the O2 dome in Greenwich hosted another SOLD OUT event for Ram Records. Not surprising as it was the 1st Birthday of Ram’s residency at the super club. Having being to Matter a few times now I feel I should make a post about it.

D&B nights dont come any better than this in a location like Matter. When I arrived, I expected a queue but it was longer than any ordinary night, luckily with a press pass and a bit of banter and haggling (which is always needed) I managed to queue jump and get in quite quickly but felt sorry for all those queuing in the cold. After circumnavigating the security check, cashier windows and cloakroom queue I made my way inside. Once inside I was immediately hit by a sea of clubbers raving in unison with a typical drum and bass swag.

Its an impressive club not just by scale but visually and audibly. The sound system installed in this venue has been highly rated by many along with its vibrating dancefloor which I have only experienced once and that was enough. Worth experiencing if you can stand being constantly hit with some Dirty bass and shaken vigourously at the same time.

The highlight of the night for me was meeting the legendary Andy C, the founding father of Ram headlined Room 1. His 3 hour DJ set could not be beat. Every corner of Room 1 was packed wall to wall with clubbers rocking out to classic D&B mixes.

Another top moment was meeting BBC 1xtra DJ MistaJam. He headlined Room 2 with an energetic DJ set of Dubstep, D&B and everything inbetween with StaminaMC going big on the mic. Before Him was another Bone rattling set by Loefah who was absolutely loved by the crowd.
