Meet Katie P.

Katie Parsons, Katie P

Photographer’s Notes:

I had the pleasure of photographing Katie Parsons aka Katie P, the winner of the Trident Gum’s Perpetual Festival competition. The journalist with Kerrang! now has the amazing job of reporting back from 30 festivals over the summer for a cool £30,000.

I had an a gut feeling she would win, she was very down to earth, chatty, friendly and intelligent lady.

Picked from 10 finalists who had to undergo a grueling but quite entertaining interview process where she had to pitch a tent in the dark, cook a meal as part of a team from a limited selection of ingredients, entertain guests at a party, show her writing/blogging skills before being put before a judging panel (most of it performed in a fancy dress costume) all held at a swankey manor house down in Dorking.

The judging panel included George Lamb from BBC 6music, Rob da Bank, organizer of Bestival and editor of Virtual Festivals, Dan Fahey.
